Beautiful seaside bungalow completely transformed in South Hams

A stunning seaside bungalow was completely transformed by , located in South Hams, on the south coast of Devon, England, United Kingdom. Built in the 1960s, this bungalow has been given a modern overhaul, complete with an addition. The new layout features an open plan with a brilliant indoor-outdoor connection.

The home was designed to maximize views towards an iconic landmark of Devon, Burgh Island. Additionally, the bungalow highlights sweeping views of the historic seaside village of Bigbury-on-Sea. Walls of glass fold away to open the indoors up to the outside, inducing cross ventilation.

An open concept living, dining and kitchen area are all grouped around a centrally located, double-sided fireplace. This log burning fireplace creates an eye-catching focal point to the space. Expansive walls of glass on two sides of the living room completely fold away to blur the indoor/outdoor boundaries.

The indoors becomes interconnected to the gardens, while framing the spectacular seaside vistas. Fresh breezes off the ocean can freely circulate through the home when the walls are open. This also helps to create a light and spacious interior, promoting comfort and relaxation. Year-round entertaining also becomes much more simplified.

What We Love: The open plan of this seaside bungalow makes it feel bright and airy and ultra livable. The sliding doors that fold away to reveal the natural beauty that surrounds the home is a fantastic feature. Natural light engulfs this home, making it feel more spacious. High pitched ceilings also adds to the lightness of space. Overall a beautiful design and layout.
