High rise condo appears to float above the San Francisco skyline

Designed by , this striking high rise condo is perched on the 17th floor in Russian Hill, a neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The condominium has underwent a complete overhaul by the architects, designed to evoke the feeling of floating above both the city and water. The architects accomplished this through the use of materials, views and light.

The architects embarked on a renovation project that entailed: “Enhancing the sight-lines as well as the experience of the changing light beyond. To do so, the spaces were divided through the use of a grounded series of minimal wood paneled objects, each offering a unique function.”

The architects felt that keeping the spaces inter-connected was essential to their design concept. The ability to transform the home was also important to the function of the home. “This was achieved through the use of elements that could slide, fold, and even change transparency,” states the architects.

The finished result is a living space that provides its inhabitants with a serene and elegant backdrop to the fabulous and continuously evolving views through the home’s expansive windows. This is a relaxing environment that is the perfect haven for urban city dwellers.

What We Love: This high rise condo showcases striking views of not only the city of San Francisco but also highlighting the bay and Golden Gate Bridge. With clean lines and minimalist furnishings, this is the perfect pad for relaxed living in the city. A tranquil environment to get away from it all and enjoy the peaceful views… Readers, what are your thoughts, do you like the design style of this renovated condo?
