Wisconsin lake house inspired by movie ‘Something’s Gotta Give’

This charming lake house was designed by  along with Hickman Design Associates, located in the resort community of Lake Geneva, in Linn, Wisconsin. The two-story, single-family home encompasses 5,800 square feet of living space. It’s beach house style design was inspired by the clients desire to have a home designed similar to the movie ‘‘. If you have not seen the movie, its a fun summer movie flick, starring Jack Nicholson and Dianne Keaton.

The exterior of this beautiful residence was carefully designed to reflect the shingle style that the homeowners were looking for. “The shingle style is made unique through seamless attention to detail — which includes bracketed gables, balcony capped bays, stone chimney tops and numerous porches and terraces,” states the architects.

On the first level you will find an entry foyer, study, sitting room, great room, kitchen, breakfast/dining area, mudroom, laundry, one full bath, one family bath, screened-in porch, an attached two-car garage with storage bay, and a master suite with separate walk-in closets and master bath.  The home features several porches on the first level; some covered and others terraced. The upper level encompasses two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a separate family area, and an outdoor porch.

Interesting Fact: This exquisite project was honored with a Silver Award from the Association of Licensed Architects.
