Luminous Sag Harbor retreat with Scandinavian design influences

This striking modern family home located in Sag Harbor, New York was designed by , with an emphasis on European and Scandinavian design influences. The residence was constructed by Tom O’Donoghue Associates, with architectural design by Kyle McArdie. The interior color palette of this five bedroom, five bathroom home was designed to create a sense of calmness and tranquility. Tones were kept neutral to draw out the warmth and texture of the wood and wall finishes.

The heart of the features an expansive communal dining table, helping to create a visual separation of space between the kitchen and living areas. In the open kitchen, custom flat panel cabinetry reflects clean lines and a minimalist aesthetic. The focus in this space is on the marble walls and beautifully hand-crafted white oak cabinetry. Small details throughout the home makes it feel one-of-a-kind, such as the white oak door handles sourced from the Netherlands.

Above: On the second level, the palette in the master bedroom and bathroom are white. This was selected to create a sense of light, perfect for the Hamptons summers. The rosewood and white veneer wall cabinet was designed in 1961, sourced from Milan. It is the perfect compliment to this luminous space.

Above: This bedroom’s design features a hipster vibe thanks to decorations that includes an Italian electric blue arm chair, Nordic Swiss army bed blanket and surf board.

The wall in the bedroom and the bathroom is created from a concrete effect with a wax coating, bamboo wood accents in the bathroom create a serene mediation vibe.
